<image:caption>Virginia Wagner makes paintings set in zones of conflict between human progress and the natural world. This tension plays out in the paint, as rigid grids contrast swampy pools and violent spills. Raised in a family of biologists, she has a unique perspective from which to observe the psychological and physical effects of our quickly changing planet. In this session, Virginia shares her most current bodies of work, describes her practice, and her perspectives on the contemporary art world.</image:caption>

<image:title>Contemporary Art Videos - Installation Art, Humans + the Environment</image:title>
<image:caption>Richard Barlow is a visual artist and musician. He has an MFA from the University of Minnesota and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. His work is exhibited nationally. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Art at Hartwick College, in Oneonta, NY. In this session, Richard talks about his most recent body of work and its evolution over time. His keen observations of humans’ relationship to nature imbue a palpable depth and meaning to his large-scale chalk drawing installation pieces. With a disdain for the commercial and an eye for both the beautiful and impactful, his work is elegant and powerful without being overly grandiose. His insight to practical aspects of being a contemporary artist is both honest and very useful.</image:caption>
